I’ve been researching because of months now moreover finally clear on the samsung a550 series. I just got the tv 2 period ago, my first hdtv. I was originally planning on getting a 46″ however couldn’t find the deal i wanted so i ended up picking the Samsung LN52A550. I was generous of nervous since i’m getting a larger sized tv than planned moreover might be overwhelmed with the size (9′ viewing distance). When we got it set-up it was awesome. It was big however not overwhelming. The size was just perfect moreover couldn’t be happier. I liked the matte/semi-gloss curtain because i have 2 big windows behind the couch at once in-front of the tv moreover no glare in the manner of all still with the blinds candid. This is one of the principal reasons i opted because of the 550 series. The viewing angles are very nice too since i have a love seat moreover a recliner chair seat on the side of my living space moreover it can be clearly viewed without any problems. I didn’t have hd aid yet, so i just hooked up indoor antennas into pick up ota (over-the-air) channels moreover the built-in digital tuner picked up both sd moreover digital channels moreover more or less hd channels. I was watching the nba finals game 5 moreover was blown away. I was getting 720p pasture from abc hd moreover the picture was awesome. I did also comprehend more or less 1080i hd feeds from ota moreover it looked great. I can’t wait into comprehend more or less hd channels (dish/cable) moreover ps3 bluray with this backdrop. Right now my set-up is ota moreover my laptop hooked-up into the tv so i’m just scratching the tip of the snowberg on the full ability of this tv. The sound is ok if you use one of the amazon reviewers audio settings that i belive was taken from avsforums moreover it is really worlds of difference from the default settings. Overall, this is a great moreover wonderful tv.
